Overly loud fratboyjockocracy.

It just kind of went on and on and on and then just rather abruptly ended like with unfulfilling orgasm.

And the thing is... through it all... I can never ever shake the feeling of the director's contempt for his audience and the subject matter.

I am pretty sure I'm not even going to go see ROTF. I've read enough to know it's not for me. It looks like it's tracking well with the 18-and-under ADD-MTV-ZOMG-SO-MUCH-ACTION-LOOK-SOMETHING-SHINY! crowd. Glad they like it. More power to 'em. They can have it.

I felt the same way after seeing it. I think it started strong. Then at some point they must have not known what to do and the movie just became "Decepticons! Pew! Pew!" and when it was over I was just glad it was over and I could leave.

How come they didn't make Sideswipe a red car? I don't understand why most the Bay TF's are all grey or silver. But yet the two new retarded TF's got to be bright colors.

As Nala said it's 18 and under. we took my 5yr old cousin and he kinda acted like i did when i saw the very "1st" Transformers movie hell he almost shed a tear when optimus got his. but to him it was a 2 1/2 hr toy comercial as he went nuts at target shortly after the movie was out

Hear hear.

I would love to see another Transformers movie, on the proviso that it is directed by someone that so clearly doesn't hate the source material and think so lowly of the intended audience.

Alas, I fear that such a person would fail to bring in anywhere near as much cash as Bay and his cynical formula.

Definitely agree here. It's almost as though they went out of their way to make sure the Autobots had no character development. In this movie the humans could have been fighting anything and it wouldn't have changed the movie much at all.
For a dude who loves explosions and anythin kick-ass he can't seem to get his head around the simple fact that cars that become robots and blow shit up is just good times. You don't have to add new human characters, you've already got like 10 robots from the last movie you never developed. At least let Ironhide and Ratchet argue about whether or not to leave earth after Optimus' big fight.
Dude hates gay robots. Fact.

I could not wait for this "movie" to be over. I liked the 1st one, but this one sucked. My seven year old son is as big a Transfan as I am, and he didn't like it either. Wesitron is right, you could have taken the TFs out and it could have been any movie that has a MacGuffin search. I HATED the Retardobots, the Robo-Farting, and the fact that besides Mudflap, Skids and Wheelie, none of the other TFs got any characterization. Who the hell was the blue Autobot that helped Ratchet attach Jetfire's corpse to Optimus? Someone please remove this franchise for the hands of Michael (Explosions!) Bay.

Yeah this movie really sucked. The beginning was okay - but Bay views the bots as set dressing - props. He doesn't know how to show them off, feature them in a way that Peter Jackson would or even McG! He fails to realize that these robot characters could be compelling.

Bay has cinematic ADD and has such a hard on for the military and shots of flying planes and random GI's saying stupid shit that I don't care about. And he has zero grasp or appreciation of fantasy and scifi. He has no concept of subtlety that this story sorely needed. What a fucking mess.

The Devastator combine scene ended without a wide shot to show you what all that BS was for!!! And then 20 minutes later, after mindless bulshit action, we finally cut back and see the full devastator in a boring afterthought longshot.

Bay is the worst fucking filmmaker in the history of cinema. Seriously, can he make a movie that doesn't have that same stupid shot of a military command center with guys looking at screens and the camera on a crane. Pearl Harbor, Con Air, TF1, TF2, The Rock it all is the same sucky SHIT!! Steven Spielberg should be embarassed to have his great name on this horseshit.

He needed to slow the damn camera down and show us robots in their glory. The first film was better only because it was less ambitious. This suffers from same problems just WAY WORSE. So disappointed. And it will make lots of money and he'll probably do #3, but I wish they would get a real director for 3. Not a music video/car commercial/Skinemax sucker classless wannabe like Bay.

I hated what he did with this crappy film.

oops sorry for posting twice, please remove my extra blabbing :)

I'm a little late to the party but I agree with everyone else.

Instead of rant, I'll point out the one redeeming scene in the movie: The Prime vs. Megatron battle in the forest. The sense of scale at certain parts was on scale with End of Evangelion's mass production unit massacre. I would gander that the End of Eva scene was used as reference. Prime ripping a tree out of the ground and beating megatron with it was just a gleeful moment for me. Horridly, the moment is short-lived and replaced by meat-head hillbilly cage-match wrestle fighting. Prime ripping a decepticon's head in two halves? A bit out of character.

I liked it. :(
