Oh cracky day! Oh cracky day!

Giga, Evebird, Kelmeister, Kelmeister's Brother, Mr. and Mrs. B. and I went to the Columbus Toy Show today. All in all I didn't spend all of the cash I took. I did spend a lot of it but not all of it.

It was actually a pretty decent Cowtown toy show and there was more Transformers crack than last year. Tons of Star Wars and GIJoe stuff but I don't really care too much about that.

I scored immediately with a complete Micromaster Countdown base w/box for only $40 which is fantastic!!! He's in great shape too.

Evebird (above) found a replacement Beachcomber for a couple of bucks.

Kelmeister was all into these Final Fantasty figures but I can't say that I was a fan. Not that I'm into Final Fantasy but if one was I'd imagine they might like these.

This poor Wonder Woman figure was given a mullet by some child. Poor poor figure. This is just one kind of horrors inflicted by children on toys. That's why toys should be for adults and not kids.

I was tempted to get the Power Loader toy from Aliens. I envisioned a new game called "Get Away From Her You Bitch!" and I think this toy would be the focal point of it. Or better yet, we'll call it an "art installation" with Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley as the focal point.

I have always hated this 1970's 12" Chewbacca. Even as kid it disturbed me and I think it was because of the plastic sleakness of it. Chewbacca is hairy and this just didn't cut it. Doesn't help that it looks dildoish too and perhaps my poor small 8 year-old mind sensed the phallic similarity.

Actually quite a decent haul. Giga got me these two paintings by artist David Lee. One is of Megatron (below left) and the other is Optimus Prime (below right) and both are in really nice floating frames.

I actually think I'll put these in the living room since the attic doesn't really have any vertical walls.

Full pictures here.

Overall I snagged my 1376th purchased Transformer today bringing the total currently in my collection to 1368. Added were a G2 Laser Optimus Prime, Machine Wars Optimus Prime, G2 Gobot Sidewipe, G1 Hot Rod, Beast Wars Rampage, Beast Machines Black Arachnia,
G1 Cloudraker and Fast Lane, Micromaster Groundshaker, a complete with box Micromaster Countdown, and PVCs of Devestator (alas, I have one coming from ebay I forgot about), Rodimus Prime w/Gun, Fortress Maximus, and Coronation Starscream.

Quite the cracky day!

And in 7 days I leave for Botcon so it will literally be a cracky weekend starting the 23rd.

Will I hit my 1400 Transformer purchase by October 1? Hmmm...

OK, I can get behind most of those purchases. . . except the Machine Wars Prime. Honestly, most of MW kinda. . . sucked. I really like the Mirage mold but the Robot Master version had a waaaay better paint job.

And Giga looks waaay too serious to be holding the pictures he's holding.

MW Prime was basically complete and only $10 so it wasn't a big deal.

And I had to take 5 or 6 pics with different lighting and settings because the back and side lighting coming from outside was totally messing up my camera.

Shit, how much was that Rampage? I didn't see that.

I almost bought a Hot Rod for $15 but it had a busted hood.

$20. But he was MIB with only minor box damage. I now have a totally complete one + the complete loose bot.

Oh. Read your email. I resonded to that.

Say, who's that handsome devil in the picture with kelmeister? And I think that was a variant "Givin' blow-jobs for crack (real crack, not the wonderful plasticky kind we all indulged in today) Wonder Woman."

Andy Lee was the artist.

Eve: the Rampage was at the everything 1/2 off booth, behind some stuff.

Kel: I'm not sure who that is? He kept talking to me about Doctor Who and then loaned me some cash.

Perhaps they'll release it on DVD. Yeah. Right. was the previous entry in this blog.

No. I'm serious. What the hell is that? is the next entry in this blog.
