Seriously,the only white in magnus bot mode was Fists shoulders and shinguards,almost his entire body was red with the second most common color being blue.
I think a lot of visitors of this blog have got their minds fucked by that titanium one which inexplicably replaced the red with white.

I'm tainted by the Masterpiece and Classics versions among others. Blue and White.

By the way Nala,i'm fully aware i'm a horrible bitch about Ultra Magnus sometimes. ;-)
I'm just his all time favorite fan,more than can possibly be healthy for anyone.

Ultra Magnus was handpicked to hold the matrix and totally screwed it up. Ultra Magnus got killed by Sixshot in Headmasters. No one cared by the next episode, and by the end of the series, Danny was calling Sixshot uncle. The moral of this story is that no one likes Ultra Magnus.

Personally, he makes me think of the blue and white of an airline pilot's uniform, because there's no part of me that doesn't think of Robert Stack when I think of Ultra Magnus. Except that Ultra Magnus would have totally screwed up hosting Unsolved Mysteries. And if you're so upset about the fact that no one thinks of red when thinking of Ultra Magnus, your problem is with designers who have come up with the GODDAMNED LAZY manner in which he's appeared as a repainted Prime over and over and over.

Seriously, G1 Ultra Magnus is blue and red. I agree with Frowny about the lazy repaints of Prime. It's awsome that the Animated UM will finally be a different mold, just wish there was red on him.

Ultra Magnus will be to me, now and forever more, red & blue...

Got to go with red and blue. I only think of white as an accent on just about all of the bots through all of the various series, with the exception of mostly all white ones. . . May I ask the question that no one's asked yet---why?

My answer is Red and Blue with a touch of White for good luck. I don't like Magnus without his armor.

Sadly, blue and white. I know the red is there and very prominent on the toy, but I can't get around the blue and white. I blame Dreamwave.

Actually, if you don't count white as a color, it has to be blue and red. ;)

Truth be told, I would vote blue and white. Yeah, the front of his bot mode has a lot of red, but I tend to think of the G1 toy alt mode, with the white cab.

And don't care why he asked the question. I'm more curious about the "one" who shouldn't reply.

Blue and red are the two colors I think of. But then again, I also think of boring white Primes.

This post is a response to a comment i left on flickr mentioning that Magnus was more Red and Blue compared to his Diaclone version.

I think blue and white but not because the "Prime Mode" is blue and white. It's mostly because his smoke stacks are white and the "shin guards" on his armor are white as well. His forearms and face are also white so...there you go.

What brought this up out of curiousity? It is an interesting question...

Rhinox, thanks for the link. I had forgotten about the different colored Magnus. I have somewhere some footage of Transformers the Movie where he was colored like that. Also the color of Autobot City was different too.

Actually, That Carl Guy, I think you're right. Isn't there a sequence when an Ultra Magnus-type (him or filler) figure is running during the beginning of the attack on Autobot City (or maybe its in Five Faces. . .) and he kind of has these colors? By the way, thanks DR for the link to Nala's picture.

Superconductor, you are correct. There's a Japanese promo trailer for TFTM that contains a few minutes of test footage ultimately not used in the film. It shows UM in his Diaclone colors and an Autobot City that is much more heavily armed. Also, another bit of trivia regarding UM: There's a variant of the Diaclone Powered Convoy figure that comes with a chrome chest plate.

I'm guessing that seeing the pics of the new Animated Ultra Magnus with just a tiny bit of red on him got you thinking about how no one gives him red colors anymore?
