I really had hoped to have the shit upgraded to Movable Type 4.1 but I pretty much have to face the facts that this new version is absolutely nothing like the old.
Versions previous to 4 were fairly understandable, especially if you had basic html skills.
This new version?
Ugh... you gotta be a programmer or scripter to understand this shit.
The default templates are now files that just pull in modular code here and there.
This is definitely not the simple system it used to be.
If you don't use their templates than there's a massive learning curve.
And me?
I barely have time for any of that anymore.

This intrigues me. I wonder if it's a simple point-of-view shift to have it all make sense. I guess I should upgrade and find out for myself. Just not a site that gets much traffic at first. Like... JK's or Palindrome's.
I've done three or four migrations from older versions to MT4. Shadowbot I ported over directly, ignoring the push to redo my templates. But I redid About Heroes for scratch in MT4 templating styles. If you have any questions about that, I'd be happy to help.
