I can't think of it. Help!

Beast Wars Depthcharge (close-up)So after posting a pic of Depthcharge this morning I realized that he too needs an exclusive made of him in his pre-Earth manta ray mode.

Botcon 2006 stretched the fiction to get a pre-Earth alt mode for Airrazor and Tigatron while not producing ones for Terrorsaur or Scorponok. Today I realized that there's the completely awesome Depthcharge who can logically have a Cybertron form.

But the more I've been thinking about it, the more I realize I don't know what previous vehicular toy could be kitbash/customized into a viable format for him.

Now I don't think there's anything totally spot-on from the previous 3 lines that would work.

Cybertron Override looks too "crab" like. Vector Prime might work but the sword/knight motif doesn't fit.

Energon Barricade is one current possibility as a base mold. A heavily reworked Energon Bulkhead? Maybe. Energon Snowcat? Hmmmm.

I'm really wanting to find that ideal one to do as a kitbash/custom.

Mind you, it may happen only in the future of my very busy life. But Depthcharge deserves it!

Thoughts on a mold?

In my opinion, it has to be at least Crumplezone-sized to work well with the pre-beast Optimus Primal.

Depthcharge has to be at least Primal size or slightly bigger.

Update: Holy shit!!! Energon Jetfire may actually work! His top fin actually sorta kinda looks like Depthcharge's "wings"! Beachcomber too!

Hi---I'm new---love your site. I figured this was a good subject to comment on finally, so I registered.

I was thinking maybe the big electronic Jetstorm from Beast Machines would work well. However, I definitely like your ideas too, especially E Jetfire.

Man, that TFU.com site needs a major updating ....

Actually Vector Prime works great think about it. D.C.'s second mode was hover craft like and the tail also became a sword on the toy and show and yuor right i like him a hell of a lot better than tigatron what gives Botcon?

DL: Yes. It does.

There was a time when I debated about making an offer to buy the content from them and totally merge into into an affiliated Plastic Crack site but I just don't have the time.

Plus. It would have to be a group endeavor to keep it updated with photos and such.

One person doing it would be totally self-defeating, especially in light of the costs of buying figures and such. I can only imagine the total cost of what buying every TF for the movie will cost.

Thankfully, I'm only going to buy the mainline toys there.

Superconductor: Welcome!

You may have something. I don't have a BM Jetstorm open but if you turn him around, he does have the general shape of a manta ray.

There might be something there.

Energon mirage or sharkticon,
with a new head.

I am going into this summer telling myself that very same thing ... but then again, I may get sucked into the movie hype and get non-mainline figures.

I don't know about BM Jetstorm, something just doesn't mesh with that idea.

Beachcomber lacks the flying aspect that seems nessesary for Depth Charge.

What about Cybertron Jetfire?

PS that page makes me wish I owned one.

PPS, have you seen Walky's Pre-Earth Skorponok? I can't find the original post but here's a few pics.

Looks like there's a Rampage concept too...

Duh! Cybertron Jetfire is perfect! Better than Energon Jetfire. Plus his base has the same aesthetic for the molds used in the Botcon set.

I had thought about Jetfire because he had the right general hair shape. But are you pre-supposing that Depth Charge was an air vehicle alt before crashing? (Then again, the dearth of nautical bots basically leaves you with Energon Mirage. which might not be the worst idea. . . )
