It is always sad to see broken toys, not matter what line or how old they are.
Yes. I'll say it: "Parts Boxes" at toy shows make me sad.
But there's often the flip side which is a kid really loved the thing and played with it until it broke.
And that's a good thing.
Toys are meant to be played with by kids and not put on shelves to collect dust and never to be touched.
I think I may donate some of the Energon stuff to Toys For Tots or something.

Neat idea. ^_^ I think I might have to do something similar, now that the daughter has moved on to Cybertron and Sylvanian Families (why is it every awesome toy seems to come out of Japan?) there are some older toys that need a good home.
I'm sure there's a jest in here somewhere about how giving Energon toys to kids would be doing a disservice to the children (zing!) but the truth is, that's a great thing to do, Nala. Merry Christmas and all that. ^_^
I have two Transmetal Megatrons, both have had thier arms broken off. It is my favorite Transformer ever. (PS, one of them came in a junk box at a garage sale pre broken).
You know really, I should at least glue a set of arms back on for a permenant Robot Mode version to display. I like the robot mode the best. Heck I could repair the other one for permenant beast mode.
Here here thats not a bad idea i do have a few of the extra gundam figures i could thin out for the tots as for brokentoys i still have my busted ass g1 soundwave i always used to play with
fandumb seems to forget this too much. i'm a g1 purist because i'm getting old and i can't remember all of these new names. i can't even remember the names of the monstructor guys. slag, sludge and snarl? snog! that's it!
anyways, they are just toys. toys i'll never let my future kids play with, but when i'm old and closer to a natural causes death, i'll give them to the grandkids to destroy. the last of the many issues i will give my offspring.

I always wanted to add a second later team of Dinobots that didn't always get along with the originals and sometimes clashed with Grimlock.
I had come up with the names Sabotage (a Plesiosaurus), Strike (a Velociraptor), Savage (a Platecarpus), Shroud and Shadow (two twin Compsognathi), and an unnamed (a Charonosaurus) that I now think could be Snog!!!
you can use the name snog as long as you make it a female(i.e. pink) duck billed dinosaur with collagen implants.
