I thought the contest to have a line spoken in the TF movie was pretty lame to begin with.
And now that I see the winning results and it just hasn't changed my opinion about how lame it is.
Carl, from Norristown, PA, will see his number-one winning entry – “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings”Um. Shouldn't the person who wrote the bio for the 1984 Prime box get credit? And you can't tell me only one person submitted that line!
Several of the other winners are just lines previously said by Optimus in old cartoons.
The one that should have won, at least from a truly creative end, and at least implying a historic past/fan wank to the character was from Jason Methuen was “Alpha Trion said there’d be days like this.”.
Now that would have been a decent original line!

Excellent points. We must remember that the producers et all are not Transformers aficionados and things like this will go right over their heads.
What they should have done is pull a Beast Wars and bring bring a hardcore fan on board as a consultant ala Benson Lee.
I just don't see how credit can be given to someone for submitting a very well established "quote" that isn't original by that person.
That's what really irks me I guess.

Besides that fact that line was already in the script... Don Murphy said that a long long time ago when he was still trying to get the fans on board eh about 12-7 months ago back when he confermed there would be no mass-shifting ..about that time. I dunno part of me even wonders if "Carl" is a real person lol or maybe its the writer who put it in the script back then hahah.

Didn't know that. Still, I doubt those running the contest knew about that. The line was probably chosen because "it sounds cool"; just a coincidence that Murphy announced the line's inclusion in the script way back when. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand's doing, probably.

I would be remiss in my overwhelming pointless geeking if I didn't point out that there was only Ginrai, Super Ginrai (With trailer) and God Ginrai (with trailer and Godbomber.)
So who the fuck IS Super God Ginrai?
