So I've been saving up money lately to buy a new digital camera.
I'm going to buy a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi on Saturday morning.
I almost bought one yesterday but the girl at Ritz told me they were going on sale this Saturday for $100 less so I'm waiting.
I've been wanting an DSLR for some time now and well... it is time.
What made you decide to go with that particular Canon, as opposed to the Nikons? I'm looking at a DSLR myself for my birthday, and I'm curious what criteria you used to come to your choice.
Well... I've been extremely pleased with my previous Canons.
There's a general consistency with the in-camera software menus and such that makes learning a new one easier.
One of the things that I noticed is that on the whole, Canon and Nikon are pretty much neck-to-neck with these levels of camera and there isn't all that much difference for me.
While I'd love an ISO3200 setting, I'll settle for the ISO1600 on this one and the fact the package that I'm getting comes with a decent image stabilizing lens at a price I want to pay.
That's pretty much it.
It didn't hurt that Digital Photography magazine had a good review of it too.
