EBay slashes some fees as incentives for sellers
Items sold under $25 on EBay will see a commission rise from 5.25% to 8.25%...Now it has been a while since I did any really crack buying or selling online but I have to believe that a sizeable portion of the plastic crack exchanging hands there falls in the under $25 category. Especially for a lot of stuff from the last 3 pre-movie lines.
I've always hated selling on EBay since you get nailed with the various fees and then, since I don't want to play the check or MO game, I get hit again with Paypal fees.
I haven't explored any other selling options since the Yahoo! auctions closed.
Any of you sell crap on anything other than EBay?
I love how they cut some fees but raised others. It's like hey, now we're forcing you to buy the gallery option because too many of you have figured out how to embed your own gallery for free.
I've had okay success selling on http://tfieds.com.
Other than that I mostly post on the TF forums or look for wanted ads on them.
One thing I myself do not like about ebay (apart from all the fees) is not having to do it on a particular schedule. No "all my auctions are ended and now I have to ship them all at once."
hm, well, i was sick of dealing with ebay all the time, so i started looking on the 'items for sale & trade' section on tfw2005.com. so far every transaction has been super smooth & easy. i don't know, just a suggestion...
also, if you have a wst bumbles you want to unload...i would be happy to take it ;)
Ebay is such a joke now....they are a flat-lined growth stock with a motive to increase the bottom line....our profit margins are of no meaning to them whatsoever....and I echo the previous comments...bot-peeps will do best to sell more on the boards and less on the bay with these scandalous new fees.
I found this opinion/factual piece on this situation & I'd have to say it's quite an informative read - so I thought I'd share it
