In which pierogies and custom transformers come together in one entry.

And thus, the preparations for the big day begins!

Yup! Today's filling-making day for the Pierogi Orgy tomorrow!

They'll even be TF geeks from outta town over at the Domicile making them!

Oh. And I don't care what the haters say, I'm loving this shit outta this custom Ultra Magnus!

I'm always amazed at how bitchy TF fans who can't customize are about work that only exists because some fans give a shit to make them.

I can see being critical of Hasbro's choices every now and then but man oh man, some geek goes out and wastes valuable life hours making a new versions of something and other people who can't do it end up bitching and being critical about it.

If I'm ever at Botcon and meet Jin Saotome, I think I'll find one of these people who always bitch about people's customs and punch them in the pussy with Jin's fist!!!

Then as they lay bleeding on the ground, we'll collect the blood and use it to make a nucleon-powered Fire Burning Guts Big Daddy custom!!!

Damn right!

Ok. I gots cook'n to go do!

Let us add to that pussy-punched group; "The son of a bitch that stole a real, working, combined Alternator's Menasor at Botcon."

Also, this customizer has some mean chops when it comes to painting. Just getting Galaxy Prime coated in white must've been a headache and a half!

That is really awesome! I love that mold of prime and to see some custom work on him like that is great. I've also seen some rather cool Nemesis Primes done from that mold as well.

Mmm Piergis...to bad I couldn't get you to send me some, if they'd survive the trip that is.

Another sweet custom; although I passed on this mold from the Cybertron line. I wasn't too impressed with the "truck" mode.

The truck mode's kind of lame, but the add-on-armour gimmick is as fun as it was with Car Robots Prime, and the addition of a real, live, removable Matrix just sweetens the deal.

Oh, and there's the combinery stuff too with Wing Saber... and also the giant arm business, although it's a tad silly. But basically, he's all around fun. :)

His biggest issue is the "I can totally see his head in vehicle mode" problem. Several Cybertron toys suffered from this, but he was one of the worst. JOP was dead on about the giant arm business. And his regular bot mode is somewhat uninspiring. But I do love me some Sonic Convoy. (Or whatever they called him in the US. . . I bought the Takara versions because I so enjoy throwing money away.) In the end he's a much better toy than either Armada or Energon Primes, and stands up more easily than Super Robot God Fire Convoy. (Omega Prime, who is still the superior Prime.)

Frowny: I just love him because my daughter can bash him into the Decepticons all she wants and he still holds together... I'm not quite sure what's gonna happen to movie Prime when she gets her hands on him. :)

JOP: I agree 100% with your comment about whoever stole the Alternators Menasor. Redline (if it's not him I apologize ahead of time.) Spent valuable time making that custom which kicked all ass and some asshole snatched it. It must really suck to be that jerk and have something so sweet that you can never show off in fear that a bunch of avenging fanboy's will come and take multiple shots to your pussy.

As a newbie to customs myself; they're not easy whatsoever and they do take a lot of work. I can't count how many times I've started and messed up and put paint thinner on the transformer and started up again. These guys are pros and if anybody bitches about them they should try doing it themselves cause it's no easy task to make the paint look that smooth and good on a custom.

Sweet Magnus!!!!! Love the combo of all white plus powered up---cool

Travis: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was Redline. People can be such assholes.

As for the criticising of customs... this is a notoriously vocal fandom with a ridiculously low tolerance for change and difference.

In fairness to the opposing side of the coin; the recent movie, and the eBay success of Jin and others, has spurned on a rash of poorly customized figures clouding the market.

(I am including in this definition any figure 'entirely and expertly repainted' with five minutes of drybrushing on the inner thigh area.)

Shit, this makes me wish TFMaster was still with us. :(

I hate when someone makes something like that and gets flak for it. When I started doing my webcomic, I had guys over at tformers "What you should have done was this."

Go do it yourself then, fuckers.

While I'm not always crazy about "white Optimus Prime = Ultra Magnus," the example above is really sweet.

I once bought a rerelease of Rhinox that was painted all wrong and took it all apart and repainted him. It was hella hard. I can only imagine how tough it was to do something like this which looks way more complicated. Its amazing.

I soooooooooo wish I could attend BotCon. It's just that I live in Cali and BotCon is on the other side of the country for me almost. I don't have the $$$ right now for a plane ticket and air fare, nevermind how I'd transport any customs -safely- there to display. I'd need a boot too... grrr! Maybe I can get a sponsor someday.
