Would you pay $43 for a grey Classics Megs?

Holy Crap!

Now the only one of any obvious importance is Classic Megs. The Hasbro release of the other figures were pretty much dead-on color wise.

I've seen some great custom repaints and even photobashes of Classic Megs done in a grey pallette and even they were panties wetting!

I suppose one could say that this has been fandom's denerfication of the original Hasbro release?

Oh. And I was also looking at what comes with that Best Buy movie DVD set.

I think it is pretty much guaranteed that Bumblebee has replaced Hot Shot fully and that no matter what line Hasbro does, from now on there will be a Bumblebee.

And just as the sun sets every day, and just as every Optimus Prime is repainted as white as Ultra Magnus, so be it that Bumblebee will constantly be repainted red as Cliffjumper.

Thus the universe turns. Turns along Hasbro's skewed version of The Golden Path.

I had an extra Cl Megs - was thinking of repainting it like some fans have done. But I do not have confidence in my ability to do so, so it has been sold.

Really, when you get right down to it I worry about most any repaint with chipping and stuff. I would like it to be fully transformable, etc. If some things could be done with Sharpies that might almost be better.

The BB/CJ thing actually makes a bit of sense. I mean, they didn't really have a good, obvious repaint of Hot Shot in every line. I have the Armada G1 Hot Rod redeco and it's okay but a bit silly. This way it is more straightforward. Maybe. (Okay, I think concept Camaro CJ looks a bit off.)

So the obvious question here is: will Takara release seeker repaints?

This bears watching because:

a) I'd like to order some; and
b) It's always fun to watch people driven into a violent fury by toy collecting. If we get the opportunity to order classics Thundercracker from Japan for $30, that would definitely make some people's heads explode.

Honestly I don't care what Takara does as long as its some good product and I can manage to get one. Wish it was abit easier for me to get things from there but sometimes with shipping and "exclusive" rates tagged on it pushes things out of price range.

Yeah I'd definately rebuy Classics Megatron in a grey and black pallet. The rest? not so much unless its so cool its hard to pass up.

As for the seekers? Sure why not I have the Botcon ones. If they get released in Japan I won't feel cheated since I actually pre-ordered my Botcon set when I had the chance so I paid release price. Now someone that overpaid for that set I could see them getting bent out of shape but well tough.

Maybe the Takara release will shut up more of the whiny fan base than it will piss off.

I'm actually more excited to see new molds for classics/universe to see where things will go.

Skywarp and Thundercracker are likely.

I don't think them doing Thundercracker would break any kind of Botcon rule.

Any created retools though would probably never appear unless they were new.

I pray for Classics Seekers, as I'm still too poor for the Botcon ones...

I actually just traded away my Classics Megs to get some non-transforming crack, so a more G1-themed version would definitely rock.

Oh, and I have the Best Buy Robot Heroes. Cliffjumper's actually a pretty good repaint--he's got some color variations that the original Bumblebee didn't have.

And I'm TOTALLY okay with Bumblebee replacing Hot Shot. As long as they don't resurrect Hot Rod in any official capacity...

Yeah, "De-NERF-ication" is right. Guess I'll have to get this one because I didn't like the US version at all. It's the only non-minicon Classics figure I don't own. A Thundercracker would, indeed, be sweet. I was never much on the Coneheads innyway.

Maybe Ultra Magnus will get a better paintjob?

Not that I'm complaining about the US Ultra Magnus...

I doubt that Takara will release skywarp and tc soon. It might be a 2-pack when they're done with their classics. Look at what they've done with their encore/classic lines - pretty much movie characters only. They love repaints though so seekers may come out in the end.
