Transformers Rescue Ratchet

Now this is the way Ratchet should have looked from the very beginning!

And you can't say to me the movie's green/yellow works better! Not for this character.

I'll give you the Ironhide black but Ratchet has to be this palette!

Transformers Rescue Ratchet is the 2005th Transformer that I've acquired.

He looks far better than the green/yellow one but just something about the face doesn't look right, maybe if the red was broken up a bit more with the white...

But from the looks of it, definitely worth picking up...

I saw one of these at WalMart recently, but I had to pass it up. Shame, because he looks amazing. I'd say it's one of the best looking movie figures.

he still looks like a big ole nurse the auto mode is superb.id rather have him in olive green.military filed medic.maybe Jim can do something.

one.

I'm passing on nearly all the G1 repaints aside from Jazz. It's close enough to a classics jazz that he looks good amongst the classics until/if they make one.

The repaints are nice but I have to draw the line somewhere, so just getting the new molds for the movie line and that's it.

I've never been a big same character repaint fan, strangely if they slap a new name on it I'm more prone to buy...

Repaint rescue ratchet looks good ... but not good enough for a 2nd purchase. And I hate the red diaper .....
:)

I want him and I want him bad. He hasn't even been SEEN in this area yet.

Folks:

He does look like a big old nurse. I think it fits.

I haven't bought this one, or the green one. I saw them, and I do like the way they look, but not enough to pay $20.

The trouble is that the Ratchet I really want is the one that knocked over the "big brown pipe" in Marvel TRANSFORMERS #7. Ratchet is probably the Transformer for whom my liking is based most on nostalgia, and so nothing that doesn't strongly evoke that Ratchet who took dire fuel oaths and with eyes blazing in horror at the thought of trusting Megatron will do. So far, there hasn't been one. Even the Botcon Ratchet just doesn't fit.

Now, some notably net.vocal fans would tell me "But he's a boring generic robot that transforms into a boring striped van." Yes, there's something in that, and I admit that this new Ratchet is a very cool toy, and I just might get it for $15 if it goes on sale. In this case, though, my primary interest is the character.

Yes, this is a different character. If the movie had done a good job of making him one, I might part with $20, but he's just a toy to me so far. (I did like Bumblebee and Optimus. Dx '7? Bee and FAB Prime are sitting on my shelves. Of course, I also have Bonecrusher, Brawl, and Jazz. Bonecrusher's bio made him what the movie didn't; Brawl and Jazz looked awesome in Remy's gallery and here, respectively. All three were good toys, and only $10. Consistency is for insects, anyway. :D )

Cordially yours:
Autobus Prime
w/minicon Farebox.

It's the face. I've nothing wrong with the colourscheme, and applaud whoever decided to take a different tack with the paint masks on the head; but it ends up unintentionally making him look like he's wearing a nurse's bonnet.

It's a shame, 'cause his altmode is sheer beauty.

After I bought him, I swapped his roof rack, grille cage, mirrors, and those grey plastic bits on the rear with black ones from the regular Ratchet version. All that stuff can literally just be pulled off and swapped around...even the roof rack pieces can just be pulled right out of the wheel. The black looks REALLY good against the white and red.

My rescue ratchet just arrived this morning and he is a really kool figure but I've got one problem, his arms keep falling off at the elbows (very annoying:( ). Do you have and advice on how I should sort this problem out?
