Ok. Now you all know I'm definitely in a downward spiral in regards to Transformers in 2007 and all so that may make me a bit cynical about some of the more useless non-toy product they hope fans mindlessly purchase but this one really seems to be the most pointless in my book.
A Transformers/Avengers comic team-up?!?!
Why!?!?
Why oh why?!?!?
While it might cause panic on Earth, the idea of the Transformers and Marvel's Avengers meeting each other has caused excitement both among fans and deep in the halls of comic publishing houses. That just screams as copy ad from a marketing department.
At least TFs and GIJoe have a history of development both in comics and even in the TF cartoon to some extent.
But the frigg'n Avengers? Ugh!
---
This strange team-up even extends to toy products that Evebird and I were discussing the other day.
Hasbro will be cranking out those deformed TFs like they do Star Wars and Marvel characters right? And they are now churing out Star Wars Transformers and so forth.
Hasbro seems to be mixing and matching their product "types" regardless of the brand to maximize profits. Ok. I understand that. They are a business.
But exactly when can we expect an official Transformers AND GIJoe toyline?!?!?!
They are both essentially owned exclusively by Hasbro, have a history together that goes back 20 years, and quite frankly is the most logical cross-over product.
Am I blind in this? Am I retarded here?

So we've had Marvel and Transformers crossovers now and in the past. We've hd GI Joe and TF crossovers. We've got the star Wars Transformers toy line....
Does this make Transformers Universe, Marvelverse, Star Wars Universe and GI Joe Land all officially in the same canon or what? Are the fan speculation about who would win, Death Star or Unicron or Galactus all completely logical and valid arguments now because "It could really happen"?
Did the internets eat my comment?
No. I don't think so.
Hmmm. . . I might be the only one here who's a fan of both properties, and I'm dreading this just because I totally hate cross-overs. Not so much when characters from one book show up in another, but full blown cross-overs just irritate me. Even the TF/GI Joe ones. Even the Alan Moore penned Superman and Swamp Thing. Besides, which Avengers, now that Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar have totally fucked up the Marvel universe? (Any version of the Avengers that doesn't include Captain America, Thor and Iron Man-maybe Wasp-is just ridiculous.)
Civil War not your cup of tea?
As bad as Superboy "pounding the walls of reality" was, Thor Clones suck much, much harder. (So, um, Gods have DNA? That sort of kills the whole mystical aspect. . . ) And while I've always had a hate on for Reed, I really dug Iron Man. I was fine with Millar screwing with the Authority and his take on the Ultimate Avengers, but Civil War has all the subtlety of a claw hammer to the forehead.
I'm STILL waiting for frickin GIJoe/TF toys. To the point that I went and bought about 4 HISS 1's and an extra MP Prime to customize that one from one of the DDP X-Overs. Prime as a HISS. f*cking awesome. COME ON HASBRO!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah...
Energon Snowcat is about as close as you are ever going to get lol
what's wrong with moore's swamp thing?
There's nothing wrong with Moore's Swamp Thing. I love Moore's Swamp Thing. I just didn't care for Swamp Thing meets Superman. I think that was a special, or an annual or something.
