He's just not very interesting to me.

6 Inch Titanium Ultra MagnusWell the 6" Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus, the first non-Optimus repaint in a very long time (not counting Energon Ultra Magnus) is set to hit toy shelves soon.

I never understood why fandom seems to both simultaneously love and loathe G1 Ultra Magnus.

I never cared for him in the show and I found his G1 toy an utter piece of crap.

But people still seem to love him.

Me?

I'm a God Magnus fan myself.

Now God Magnus is one helluva reinterpretation of Ultra Magnus if ever there was one.

He's stronger than Fire Convoy and has one major chip on his shoulder.

Hell... he's strong enough to even impart his energy onto the Autobot brothers so they can "power" up.

That's the kinda of Ultra Magnus I want!

I'll probably buy this 6" version just because he's not a straight repaint like we've gotten for so many years now.

But he's not that great looking is he. Big body. Small head.

Oh well.

Now can we please get Titanium War Within Megatron soon?

Or better yet... since we are getting a 6" Titanium Fire Convoy... how about a God Magnus to go with him!!! (And give him some articulate knees while you're at it!)

Again, Sixshot killed him in Headmasters, and I smiled. UM was just useless.

It's amazing to me that Ultra Magnus could be featured on so many episodes of The Transformers and still not have a personality.

And that 80's powder blue color scheme has got to go away.

I really dig this version of UM, along with many of the new 6' Titaniums!! They look pretty sweet. I got Cheetor from eBay arriving sometime next week ...

I got The Fallen a day or 3 ago from BBTS and OMFG he is amazing. Then I realized "I HAVE NO IDEA who this guy IS!" Went back and reread the WWI comics and it made it all worthwhile. RiD Prime was OK too. Can't wait for UM. He rules. And according to the inserts that came with them we're getting a Soundblaster w/Ravage (assuming SW w/repaint and new cassette). W00t!

I didn't even realize Cheetor or The Fallen were out in retail yet.

I think the deal with Magnus is, he's got several interesting aspects (Optimus Prime's 'brother', armour gimmick, solider-not-a-leader) which are inversely countered by numerous unimaginative repaints and a poor cartoon personality.

Having said that, I think the good outweighs the bad. He just needs a decent toy already... I would call it a pipe-dream, but after Takara pulled out MP-05 Megatron, anything is possible. MP-06 Ultra Magnus with transforming trailer?

Speaking of the devil... If somebody wants to knock out an MP like this, I'd buy it in an instant. The cylinder-fed handcannon is awesome.

BTW, if you guys haven't had a look around the artists gallery, do so... he's got some pretty sweet illustrations in there, including an awe-inspiring Fort Max.

Titanium Cheetor is awesome!! Best mold of the guy IMHO!! I caved and paid a little more for him early via eBay.

Nala - I think you can get him and several other newer 6' Titaniums from the Hasbro online store.
