I just read some slightly better news regarding MP-06, the next Masterpiece figure.
...although no picture is yet shown, the page features a description, which mentions that Skywarp will feature a new head with different expressions to Starscream. One expression will be of Skywarp gnashing his teeth, the other is described as a "high handed" expression. The description also implies that Skywarp will feature a little more die-cast than the previous use of this mold - watch this space for more information.Good news on the fact it may be slightly retooled and have more die-cast.
That definitely changes my thoughts on buying one when it is released.
Perhaps while they are at it, they'll think about re-using the new die-cast-heavy version as the basis for fan-happy Anime-accurate (tm) Starscream?
Although I do have to add, while I am aware that it is standard TakaraTomy practice to double-dip, perhaps holding back the die-cast is taking things a little too far? You know, what with it being an integral reinforcing structural element and all that.
While I'd love to say I have the willpower and impulse control to not get this, since I already have Starscream, I really, really can't.
Suck.

I just received my MP-05 Megatron... Jeez Louise, talk about flimsy! I'm scared to even attempt to transform him! As soon as I got him out of the packaging (which is very nice incidentally), parts of his shoulders and hips fell off!
Imagine my horror...
Stay in the box he shall, especially when my kid starts running around...

Yeah. He's definitely a "stay in bot mode" figure. It is a shame TakaraTomy shaved some yen off the figure by not doing enough metal.
