Ok. So you know what I hate most about Ebay right now?
Internet Ebay fags who use bastardized versions of my photography on their auctions.
I've had my photography ripped off so many times now.
I've seen it on Ebay. I've seen it reposted by other people on Flickr as their own. It just doesn't end.
And what's worse is that various spammers have snagged my RSS feeds and have copied entire categories and sections into spam blogs from here.
That's always so f'n grand.
I think you can report them on eBay as a violation ... not 100% sure how. But I'm pretty certain that as an eBay seller, you are suppose to provide your own original item pics.
did you contact the seller?? that is so not okay! grrr...
They have their own damn photos there. That's what pisses me off.
To butcher one I took, and then just put it on an auction irks me.
At least when I borrow an image for an entry here I try to always link back to the source article or image itself.
People have constantly stolen my images from here and my bandwidth through hotlinking. Thankfully the redirects have pretty much put a stop to that.
That I know of, I've only had the latter one listed happen to my Flickr stream. I only noticed because I have a Google alert set up for "Ramen Junkie". Anytime someone posts anything with that listed I get an email from Google. Pretty slick really. I use it mostly to keep tabs on my current favorite topics.
He could of at least emailed you to ASK whether or not he could use them.
It's times like this that i'm glad i suck at photography...
I personally would contact the seller and ask him politely to remove the picture or else you're going to hunt him down and ram every single copy of 'Transformers' sideways up his rear end without lubrication...
And yeah, either ask you for permission or link back to wherever they got the picture from in the first place...
Man, that sucks. I will admit I used one of your pictures of MP Magnus in an ad at Tfieds though back when I was looking for one at a decent price. I'm pretty sure I gave you credit though.
I keep thinking maybe some of my Transformer toy pics will end up on eBay but that hasn't happened yet. I guess I must not be that great of a photographer.
If you've got an eBay account, then it should be pretty easy for you to report the violators. Whatever else goes on with eBay, they seem to be pretty good on going after people for using misleading images (more for fear of outright fraud than laziness on the part of the seller, but still.)
