I am smitten with this crack load!

His color palette is totally perfect.

Sure he's pull'n a Shockwave "eye" but when it works this well who cares!

Wow...he's actually my LEAST favorite of the movie series...that damn post that sticks out of his back drives me insane--it was a complete deal-breaker for me.

That and the fact that he's awfully tiny for an armored truck.

Payload rules indeed and I love his little grabber-claw! Had to glue on the head/shoulders, the front of the claw and the grille tho. He's a 'choke on this' type of figure apparently, heh.

And if you love Payload now... wait till you see what I did with him... rar.

Shucks, I found one of these awhile back and had to pass...now I regret it even more. He's definitely impressive, but his feet look kinda unwieldy.

I still need this guy too ....

N:

Payload is puttin' on the Ritz in that one photo. I think he needs a cane and a blue top hat. Perhaps it's the lapels that make me think so.

I passed on Payload a while back, and haven't seen one since. I don't really regret it much; I have some Ebay bids going, and am saving up money for a Bowser locomotive kit. I'm sure there will be more Payloads in the future, and if there aren't, no great matter. This TF drought has really forced me to reconsider my buying habits. As restrained as I tried to be, the collection still has grown to a point (a couple hundred) where I have too many to really enjoy. Perhaps a two dozen would be just right.

Still, I do enjoy the ones I have enough to want to keep them, and they're not a chore to hang on to. I just find that I have a rotating group of about a dozen in action at any time, and the rest are simply stored until I get bored and bring them out (and put the others back).

Cordially yours:
Autobus Prime
w/minicon Farebox.

Yeah, I don't like him at all. He's waaayyy too small for a Deluxe, and the scale is as ridiculous as Bonecrusher (he's smaller than Jazz's Solstice mode for crying out loud)

how did you get this dude to stand? i just bought him, and his leg joints are all loose and that thing that sticks out his back ain't helpin!

Mine had loose ball-joints too. But I used the old clear-coat nail polish trick, and it worked like a charm.

Also: regarding the head and shoulders -- on mine, only two of the four pegs were in place -- it stayed much better when I managed to "stretch" the headplate over so that the other two pegs would pop into place. It's quite firm now.

I'm still trying to decide whether to leave out the springs I took out, or to put just the smaller one back in.

And has anybody seen a kitbash/mod turning him into Shockwave? (I found a Shockwave Swindle, but no Payload) That claw was *SO* meant to be a laser cannon -- and the coloring practically already there...

It is a shame about the scale and the flimsy plastic. He would make a great voyager size, though -- especially if they modded his claw into a cannon and made it able to fold out of the way.

All in all, I think he gets a bad rap.

The flimsy plastic on all of the non-character transformers (i.e. transformers not in the 2007 movie) makes me cringe, but Payload is definitely the best of them. He's a lot of fun to transform and his grabber claw is just fun to shoot out. Super gluing the loose bits was easy enough. I just wish his eye lit up better. The plastic they used for it is way too dark!

Rtheom: It has been a while since I had these guys easily available.

I didn't think mine felt flimsy at all plastic-wise.

this is strange because my payload dosent keep its graber stick straght, it just hangs down, the grill is draged on aey serfice its on THATS A PROBLEM!!!!

I seriously love this model. The robot has so much character and articulation. Pleasantly surprised even if the alt mode didnt look impressive in the box.

his face fits him very well, i think.
and i fkin love that mold!

I just got this figure today and I have to admit he's pretty cool but I dont like the very limited room his head has to move in. Also, my one is missing the grid from the front of his vehicle mode, but no complaints there because it only cost me a few quid, and I think he looks better without it.
