Being home sick today was dangerous.
I kinda found myself perusing online stores and ended up droping a ton of scratch on some toys I had my eyes on for some time.
I snagged an Encore Sky-Lynx, the TakaraTomy black version of Movie Incinerator, and the WonderFest Exclusive Dai Atlas figure from last year that I've wanted forever.
The only thing that I feel the slightest bit guilty about dropping money down on is the Fusion Cluster Protoform Starscream.
While I hated the general Hasbro release I totally love the insanity of the translucence on this.
Yes. It cost and arm and a leg but I've been building up such a bad crazy niche on the translucent stuff that I'm having more fun with that then the general mainstream lines.
I'm more or less thinking of it as spending the money on one figure I really want instead of all the movie crap that my previous "gotta collect 'em all" mental illness used to drive me to do. I just need to find the Fusion Cluster Protoform Convoy at the GRC and I'll be set.
I'm hoping that Fumihiko has some of those, as well as some of the other crazy Takara shit that's been coming out.
Oh. Also preorded a couple of things too.
The Takara grey Classics Megs, the Takara Classics Astrotrain (in the purple and grey), and Revoltech Starscream and Hot Rod.
I'm actually surprised I'm not feeling the guilt right now.

Mark: I did Big Bad Toy Store today. I haven't bought from them in a few years but they had some things in stock so I just did it there. I didn't want to have multiple orders at different places.
I've been meaning to ask your opinion on Tak's Protoform Starscream. It's been on sale at HLJ forever and looked pretty cool, but I figured that was just me needing a placebo purchase.
Just bought a G1 Perceptor and, for the first time in about a year, don't find myself feeling the need/want to buy any particular TF.
Well, except for the stuff that ain't out yet.
Found the Wal-Mart exclusives today - woohoo!! Picked up Big Daddy, Grindcore, & Jolt. Really wanted the first two, Jolt was an impulse buy, and I passed on Divebomb.
They only had 2 of each mold in stock - with plenty of Landmines, Camshafts, & Stockades.
Nala - Snagged an extra Big Daddy for ya if you're interested. Let me know.
Heavyarms: We'll, you'll know when I get him! :-) I'm partial to the translucence in the Takara versions. The Hasbro ones were just so boring.
DL: Based on these pics I've decided to get Jolt. I mean... he's full of Shockwavey purple and grey goodness. I'll let you know on the Big Daddy. I expect to find one here but I don't get out to Wal-Marts much. The one I occasionally get to didn't get shit in yet.
If Jolt had that camera head from Movie Swindle he would be PERFECT. Except, of course, he'd need the proper name.
I think part of the reason you don't feel the guilt is that a) you haven't been buying nearly as much crack lately (I call it 'behaving'), and b) it's sort of a downtime between lines, which is really the best time to catch up on stuff.
Jolt goes well with Dropkick (the purple pickup truck) IMHO.
Now all I need from the TF movie line is Stealth Bumblebee, and maybe Salvage.
Yeah, Jolt and Dropkick will look great in a group, maybe also with Takara Classics Astrotrain...purple/grey really fits the Cons.
Btw reissue Skylynx arrived in mail today - I love it! My favorite character from season 3.
Your buying spree makes me long for the days of yore, when such financial freedom was available in the Hancock household.
Granted, I'm planning on making some of the same purchases, but I'm pooling up a huge list for Botcon rather than getting them now. Will I pay more? I hope not. I won't have to pay for shipping, anyway.
It has been a very very very long time since I did something like this, dropping so much money down on toys.
Everything pretty much goes into the house for me.
I wouldn't feel bad - from the looks of it, everything you threw down money on was a grade-A awesome purchase...
