And in the unfinished Domicile of Love there was pant hooting.

OHMYEFINGGOD!

Powerglide is perfection.

Tankor Octane is triple-changey awesome!

Onslaught is most definitely Onslaught!

And with Prowl I can hear Michael Bell!

But the funniest thing is, there's just so much detail in these guys in that simple basic grey plastic that gets lost later on.

I can only imagine the greatness that Jin Saotome might bring to these guy later down the road.

Of course, I'm betting odds that we'll get a SilverBluestreak or Smokescreen out of Prowl too and that's perfectly fine in my book.

Now I can't wait to watch all the people bitch that "Onslaught isn't a combiner!" or "Powerglide doesn't come with Michael Chain's leather jacket!" and so forth.

I still remember that fond September 2, 2005 post when Michael Chain visited PlasticCrack.com!

Ah... 2005.

So very long ago.

WOW!!! Now they are all beautiful!

Octane has bits hanging off everywhere, they seem to be overly detailed compared to the Classics 1.0 figures but they all look mean as!

Like you said, Who's taking bets that Bluestreak/Smokescreen will be part of the GRC 2009 Box Set

Wait, are these the Classiverse 2.0 figures? Oh, man. I'm just now getting over my 3 month "Search for MP Starscream" ordeal. These are awesome. And Smokescreen remold of Prowl? Yes, please.

I wouldn't be surprised to see repaints of the Prowl and Sunstreaker molds into who they should be. That's about 4 more characters easy.

I actually like how Powerglide turned out.

Octane looks like a decent balance of the three forms.

Oh the whining will be great when the fanbois find out that Onslaught won't combine.

Can't wait for these to come out. But now I'm really curious what the next wave will contain.

Yay Powerglide. I've always liked the A-10 design.

Prowl is up there in my favorite characters list. It'll be nice to get a decent update for him.

Octane's truck is a bit odd and I can't figure out his transformation but he looks pretty cool.

I like Onslaught but I have issues with him as Onslaught. Not because he doesn't combine but because he went from flatbed to bulky tank thing. Octane's truck looks more like an Onslaught update than Onslaught.

Sunstreak, Prowl, & Tankor look awesome!! I'm actually not too excited about the Ultra class molds, they look too, I dunno, bulky.

Can't wait for the Bluestreak (my first TF toy) repaint of Prowl. Hope it's NOT a GRC exclusive.

im loving all of them. I agree about Onslaught though. The only thing about him that says "Onslaught" is head and back cannons.

Can any of you guys point me in the right direction of where to find a Takara Classics Megatron?

Cheers,

M.

onslaught is awesome! perfect proportions and details..trouble id i always prefer them unpainted as they seem to lose the sharpness of the details, like theres half an inch of paint on top.

I can't say for absolutely certain, but from what I've seen of Sunstreaker so far, it appears that the mold is actually designed so that you can turn his head, arms and legs around and - BAM! - you've got Sideswipe.

As for the others... they all look beautiful, especially Prowl. (I was kind of hoping we would get a Classics Hound though. Maybe one day. ^_^)

And Onslaught - well, no other combiners. But... there's a very high degree of engineering thought that went into these guys. It's a long shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if Onslaught has been designed with combination in mind. So we'll see. :)

I'm beyond excited for all these. I hope they do a Smokescreen repaint on Prowl. As a kid I always wanted Smokescreen.

JOP,you are correct. sideswipe will simply be a headswap/redeco of sunstreaker. with maybe a new weapon.

I can't wait for the sunstreaker and the inevitable sideswipe re-deco. here's praying that the 2.0 re-deco's are not GRC exclusives. the nice this is if they do a combiner leader (onslaught) as a larger class can that leave the door open for new versions of combiners

JOP:

Don't forget you can also get Diakron red Sunstreaker and Tigertrack. Combinations, permutations, yay.

I'm hoping to get a Bluestreak out of Prowl myself, but if this gets reserved for Botcon, so be it. I'm not paying for nebulous qualities like rarity and that's that. Of course it's important to avoid cussing your chickens before they hatch.

In general, though, I'm thrilled about all of these. They're great.

More than a headswap and recolor, in a way. Apparently the mold is designed so you can actually transform it with a Ssw-style hood chest, or a Sst-style roof chest, hence my remarks to JOP, above. I think this is a pretty cool idea, actually.

Yeah - at first I was kind of worried about how it would turn out, as the initial test-shot of Sunstreaker did away with the hood/chest combination seen in the Botcon design sketches... But on closer inspection here, it seems to have been a fantastic idea. All of them are amazing, in fact.

Any word on Classics 3.0, or a continued Universe line with pre-AEC-themed repaints and more awesome original molds? (Dream line-up: Smokescreen, Hound, Jazz, Tracks, and Inferno and Grapple.)

Also, raise your hands for Masterpiece Reflector. :)

JOP:
You've got my vote on the Hound, Jazz, and Tracks. Even though they've got Alternators already, Dx sized warriors would be great. Of course, nothing wows the rubes like taking down a model car and nonchalantly transforming it into a robot. I've pulled this stunt on visiting nonfan relatives a couple of times, and they always want to see the other ones...

It would also be interesting to see how the designers navigate around the Distinctive Trademarked Design Features they'd run into with Hound and Tracks, though that may not be the barrier the automakers wish us to think it is. :)

Inferno and Grapple, now, those I'd only recommend with asterisks, because although I do enjoy my G1 Grapple, his vehicle mode is not a crane, and Inferno's fire-truck mode is only slightly more realistic. They're essentially folded robots with great-looking Nissan cabs and nice wheels.

What would be great, and in keeping with the realistic thing they're apparently shooting for, would be a Genuine American Fire Truck for Inferno, and a real construction vehicle for Grapple. In fact, rather than a crane, I'd rather see G. as a Gradall. I think a Nissanlike cab could be used on a machine like this without hurting its realism. For Inferno, a Mack CF or classic Lafrance pumper would be dandy. AFAIK we have never once had a real US fire truck in the toyline.

I think Ironhide needs some Classics lovin. Windcharger was the first Transformer I ever owned. I wouldn't mind seeing one of him but he's not like a big player or anything.

I think my dream line would include Ironhide, Jazz, Wheeljack, Rumble/Frenzy (they could turn into something other then cassettes), Hound would be awesome too.

Autobus: The thing I really love about Classics is that it gives my daughter more modern, play-worthy versions of the G1 characters she loves. So any contribution to rounding out the 'cast' in her eyes is highly welcome. :)

Hound would be easy enough to recreate generically. Tracks also, although his vehicle mode might need a little more work to prevent infringement. Also... Warpath?

I gotta agree with your comments on Inferno and Grapple... it's cool that they homaged them in Energon, but the combination gimmick took up a lot of the engineering overhead that could've been spent better elsewhere. But certainly, the two of them could make for great Voyager or Ultra class figures.

BTW, a Gradall G660 would be perfect for Grapple, albeit with more of a crane than excavator attachment.

Also - hear hear! More love for old-fashioned Ironhide and Ratchet too. (All props to the awesome movie Voyager Ratchet figure, but voiced by General Hague? Come on...)

Who says Onslaught won't be able to combine?

Hehehe...

*cracks knuckles*

aww Damn sounds like jins gotta plan
