This part of humanity makes me hate being a fan of anything.

I used to be that way too with cosplay.

Then I realized that a lot of the people into this peripheral craziness probably don't have much in the way of lives outside of their particular geek-on so they might as well enjoy it as much as possible.

It makes their lives happy so let 'em enjoy their thing.
