I was willing to pay for incomplete shelves even!

Did you know that when it comes down to it, Target would rather not take your money and sell you something that you really want?

Yup!

Apparently the almighty big red concentric circle logo people have haphazard policies from store-to-store about not selling display units that are already assembled.

Giga and I drove around to a ton of Targets, even driving up to Delaware, Ahiya, trying to find one of those perfect damn shelves!

Hell... I'd even have bought the one that was missing the two top shelves since then I still could have put the Maximii twins up there and my purty Takara boxed shit.

But noooooo!

Get this... Spectroscott even found some display units up in the general Cleveburg area and they refused to sell to him!

So.

I still don't have any remotely decent shelving to try and have some type of collection of crack in the new house.

I'm almost to the point I just want to get rid of everything other than a few Car Robots figures and my PVCs and call it a day as a crack collector!

Maybe this IKEA shelf will work.

I'm not a fan of light birch and my plans for the room were not along colors like that.

I suppose I could strip and restain the damn thing but man, all I want is a frigg'n decent looking shelf and not all this goddamn drama!

I never would have thought it would be so hard to find a decent quality wood shelf this large.

Goddamn I hate toys!

They're fine - I reckon you should snag those Ikea one's up. But they might not be big enough down the road.

Why not build some shelves? Go pick up some pine boards at the lumberyard, round off the edges with sandpaper, stain them a nice dark color, and put them on adjustable shelving track. You could even build something like the Target shelves without much trouble.

I've thought about it but I have too many major renovation projects already in the queue for the new house and I'd rather just have something I can get up and use. I don't have time to deal with routering wood and staining for toy shelves when entire rooms need to be redone.

Part of getting the "right ones" is so they can be reused for other purposes or rooms at a later date.

Why not build a time machine, go to Target two weeks ago, buy one, and then bring it back?

Time to hire a carpenter? Seriously though, they could probably put some identical shelves together and it will cost more, but in the long run they'll be a helluva lot sturdier.

It just seems like Target and their ilk of late refuse the sell bog-standard shelves. Oh, if you want 'floating shelves' and 'accents' they are all over that shit... but something to put up a few choice robots? Holy shit...

I've had enough problems with Ikea's particle board that I don't buy anything from them that isn't solid wood.

how many do you need? im out in louisville, ky, but i dont mind chaecking my Targets and shipping if they have any in stock

Nala, you fail us,we are sick of your non-tf related shit, bad enuff we had to put up with DR Who,but now you're just not posting ANYTHING TF anymore, might as well close the site.

How sad to see you finding hatred of your collection. Just wait a few months for the stresss of moving to subside and all will seem fine with your collection. Best to not get rid of everything now, and then in 3 months find yourself in the fetal position requiring a hit of plastic, but you'll have none to kill the craving!

I have suffered through the regret of getting rid of far too many figures in the past.....now, nothing leaves unless it's a financial pinch or it is absolutely time for it to leave....be strong....

The shelves are for my goddamn fucking toy robots so in my view ... I pay for the site and I host the site so I can fucking talk about fucking shelves to put goddamn fucking toy robots on all the fucking day if I care!!!

TinMan A.H: The heart of the problem is the loss of such a massive space to have such a large collection. I have no way to even display 20% of it anymore.

Things always have a way of getting better - Something tells me that all the dramas regarding your current situation will, in time, erase themselves. We all go through rough patches, but everything smoothes out. It'll be ok Mate.

At the moment, My Oldies are at me over some stupid shit - but I don't let it get to me. Hell, the arrival of Alternator Hot Rod today sure picked me up :) - It'll be all good Mate. (As my ex Lisa used to say - bloody hell I miss her)

It's a shelf, people. The space for Transformers is small, and his collection is not his life or livelihood, so downsizing from 2000 to say, 200, is not unhealthy by any means.

They're just fucking toys, after all.

Oh, & even here on the bottom of the world (or Down Under as some call it), our Media informed us of the shooting in Cleveland as one of the top stories - It truly makes you think "What is the world coming to?"

Ikea are now exporting goods to Sydney in the new 'flattened pack' form.

(Sorry, spotted an Aussie and couldn't resist!)

:o)

And the might Shelf was known as:
Thomas O’Brien Modern Bi-Fold Shelf

let the cry go out... for it must be found - or all is lost.

...seems that only it can fill the void left by the passing of the Attic of love. For this shelf and only this shelf can hold the essence of love allowing it to live on.

no price shall be too high for Love

umm... "till all are one"

no dice. they didn't even have display models. when I asked a rep she acted like it had never been there and that I was a loon. I told her it was for Nala's goddamn fucking robot toys and she said she her husband was killed by a goddamn fucking robot toy and I shouldn't be putting anything like that on a shelf.

Good day for crack, bad day for customer service. Sorry dude

I'm eyeballing 5 shelf bookcases at Lowe's. The particle board stuff was cheap but decent looking when we bought some for our apt. many years back. $60-$70 for a 5 shelf bookcase might work. I'm thinking 4-6 of those bad boys in an unfinished part of my basement. Whatever crack don't fit gets sold!
