I did it.

So I broke down and preordered the Transformers Club exclusive Astrotrain (and minicons) as well as the Pre-Beast Wars Airazor.

I really feel dirty about ordering from the club these days.

So what ia the going rate for these anyways? The pricing on the club seemed really well, pricey. I'm wondering if any of the overpricedness translate to "regular prices" on these exclusives.

Since these are not retail I'd have to say that the going rate is indeed the club price, at least for now.

I think I paid $84 for the Astrotrain and $42 for the Airazor.

I know deep down that I really probably would never have paid more than $50 for Astrotrain and maybe $30 for the Airazor.

I would have been interested had they done a Depth Charge or Protoform X, but Airazor? Even though I dig the mold, $42 is pretty ridiculous for a deluxe.

Do any of you guys have a link to the airrazor so i can see what it looks like?

Ok 2 questions i like the Airrazor so how do i get one and 2nd is the club really worth it? I mean their "member" price is more expensive than the local target so i wouldnt sign up for that reason but are their any perks or what?

Well, the only way to get the exclusives is from the club, or I suppose Ebay aftermarket.

I already bought my 2 Airazors and unfortunately, the 2nd one is spoken for.

So you dont reccommend joining the club?

Well. For the $40 yearly fee I can't say it is worth it unless you end up going to Botcon. With Botcon at least members get a discounted Primus package.

Personally, other than that discount, and the obvious ability to finally be able to buy some of these exclusives, it doesn't have much to offer me.

The yearly exclusive figures have ended up being translucent Energon combiner parts. And it'll take 3 more years to have the whole combiner!!! The Energon combiners weren't all that great to begin with so this isn't really a positive selling point to me... and I'm just a toy guy really!

The monthly Master Collector newspaper is totally worthless for me. The concept of a printed classified add in the year 2006 is so outdated I can't even begin to say how lame this idea is. Ebay and the internet completely supplanted the printed classified ad in 1998!

The bimonthly Newsletter Magazine is also pretty low on my list of reasons to join. The internet has completely made such things irrelevant. The news is dated by 2 months, the articles, while somewhat new in content, aren't really a driving reason for it, and the comic part is just too fan-created for me. (But I just don't get into the comics anyway.)

There's no incentive that I see to buying from their online store. I typically fine my TFs much cheaper at any Target or at other online stores.

Now with that said, I was one of the lucky few who managed to get an order for Alternator Nemesis Prime through this past summer. But even that wasn't that big of a reason to join since even HasbroToyShop was selling it.

Basically, if $40/year doesn't matter to you and you want access to the exclusive toys then you should do it.

The rest is all pointless filler.
