Takara Micromasters "Berserker" Six-Wing (White Chase version)

I don't know why but I love these guys! So much better than the all black or all red chase versions.

Takara Micromasters Six-Wing is the 1913th through 1918th Transformer that I've acquired.

Reissue Soundwave with Ravage and Laserbeak (Exclusive)

Reissue Soundwave with Ravage and Laserbeak

On retrospect, I feel really bad about buying both this figure set, and the Alternators.

Basically, I just contributed to "online retailers" basically descending on mass market toy chains, buying up all the exclusive figures to those chains, and then reselling them with a significant markup.

I thought it wouldn't bother me when I bought these but now it is.

Guilt over toys. That's the story of my frigg'n life.

Reissue Soundwave, Ravage, and Laserbeak are the 1854th to 1856th Transformers that I've acquired.

G1 Fortress Maximus, Cerebros, and Spike

G1 Fortress Maximus, Cerebros, and Spike

He doesn't really fit in the light box.

He's a bit dusty and needs some love.

And yes, I'm going to count him as 3 bots since in the American continuity you can almost count him as such. Definitely 1 bot + Spike at least.

(If and when I get a Takara version I'll only count him as 1 since that's the way he really is supposed to be. Plus I like that continuity a thousand times better than the lame ass Nebulos/Rebirth storyline.)

Fortress Maximus, Cerebros, and Spike are the 1824th - 1826th Transformers that I've acquired.

Worst photo of Fortress Maximus ever!

I debated about telling you all.

January 31, 2007 | | comments (4)

G1 Fortress MaximusI debated about telling you all about a purchase I just made from a guy I work with.

I just picked up a G1 Fortress Maximus.

He's only missing one of his hip guns and Cog., the smaller bot made up of Grommet and Gasket.

I'm told he's fairly white, has all his ramps, and all of his stickers, while they are applied, are all in really good shape.

I figure I'll never be able to get a Takara Fortress Maximus with Master Sword and it isn't every day someone can just drop one off to me at work.

Holy shit! I don't see these that often!

Zone Metrotitan

There's a totally groge'us Zone Metrotitan up on crackbay right now.

I've always wanted one of these.

Hell... I wanted to do a repaint of Cybertron Metroplex one day as Metrotitan. I suppose I should try to snag an extra Cybertron Metroplex if and when they get clearanced.

It has been 20 years and I dislike this character just as much as I did in 1986.

I just think he's an ugly boat.

Don't get me wrong here now... Hasbro did the ugly boat thing justice here. He's solid with a good paint job.

The character just does nothing for me.

Titanium G1 Scourge is the 1746th Transformer that I've ever gotten.

Takara G1 Star Saber

Quite frankly I wasn't expecting to come home with any holy grail pieces. Dropping $300 down on this guy during room to room trading on Friday morning was probably a bad idea but in the end he was the nicest one I saw.

This is the 1719th Transformer I've ever purchased.

Note: This is the 1678th Transformer that Nala has purchased!

Whatever happened to Lion anyway?

May 30, 2006 | | comments (4)

And then I read...

The DVD also features a winning soundtrack featuring the iconic theme "The TRANSFORMERS" performed by Lion, and the popular "The Touch," performed by Stan Bush.
I so love the inclusion of the word "winning" here.

Let's face it.

That soundtrack is one of the single worst collections of music used in a film.

Ever.

Broad-oo-cast. Sound-oo-wavah.

I came across this link courtesy of monkeystyle.net and I've never seen it subtitled but only with the horrible StarTV dub.

I really hope Transformers Headmasters gets released in a Region 1subtitled version. The damn thing has been released in Europe so why the hell not.

Sure the audience is small. Sure the animation is poor. But this whole DVD region encoding bullshit for niche products is totally crazy.

There may be a shitload of Micromasters in the Attic of Love but there's only one Big Daddy!

Ever collector should have only one Big Daddy.

Balls. Be sucked!

One would think that the US, being one lame ass geek market, wouldn't seem to be on the bottom of the barrel when it comes to videos and shows that never aired here. Especially when they are of a geek flavor.

Case in point: The forthcoming UK released of Transformers: Super God Masterforce.

I am going bonkers wanting to see decent video and have the thing subtitled! Supposedly the English dub is also not the horrible Japanese dub as well.

I so want to see Ginrai, Shuta, Minerva, and the rest and for some reason I suspect this will never be released here.

So. Where do I get one of these damn region-less players again? Grrrrr....

G1 Reissue Star Convoy and Micromaster Hot Rod

I ended up going in on an auction with Mr. E. He wanted the reissue Galvatron and I've always wanted a Star Convoy so now I have one.

He's kinda boxy as most later G1 figures were.

But I do like is box art!

And I only paid like $58 for him.

Yup. The final Hasbro reissue figure has been acquired via the Hasbro Toy Shop online store.

G1 Sideswipe Commemorative Series VIII

November 16, 2005 | | comments (3)

November 16, 2005 - Reissue G1 Sideswipe is in da haus!

So Evebird was at KB and actually found something there! Imagine KB having something that isn't overpriced? I know. Hard isn't it.

Seems like the much delayed G1 Sideswipe Reissue figure that never made it to ToysRUs here in the U.S. did indeed make its way a year late to KB for clearance. At only $14.99 this figure is so much cheaper than WeBeToys had the reissues at so I can't complain.

I do however already have the Takara reissue (in much cooler packaging) so I may just open this one.

The art on the box is really perfect and totally sums up Sideswipe's character to me, especially that smirk! Sideswipe was also voiced by one of my favorite voice actors Michael Bell.

Number in Collection: 1466

I... am... Snarl...

November 1, 2005 | | comments (0)

Worlds Smallest Transformer Dinobots? Coolness.

Ok. I'm kinda ganked at the news I read on that Just It Toys, maker of everybody's favorite unofficial trailer to Masterpiece Convoy will be doing 5 Worlds Smallest Dinobots.

And from the looks of it the much lamented and often forgotten Snarl gets the initial spotlight!

Now Snarl is my favorite Dinobot. I always liked Stegosaurs and Snarl, being one, naturally became my favorite followed closely by Swoop (due to Michael Bell's providing his voice).

Of course, in both animated show and comic the always annoying Grimlock took center stage and with Slag and Sludge and then Swoop taking up Dinospace poor Snarl always was forgotten. He wasn't even in Transformers: The Movie. How shitty is that?

That said, I like the fact that this guys, will unofficial, will probably be pretty cool. And they will be larger than the WST figures so more in scale with the way they were in the G1 cartoon initially.

That's another thing that seemed to get lost in the model sheets somewhere. The Dinobots, when in robot mode, we much much larger than most of your standard Diaclone-inspired Transformers. As season 1 progressed they became more normal sized. Kinda sucked.
