Ugh!

There's nothing worse than coming home to a central air conditioning unit not working.

Joy.

Let's see what this bill will be.

Really. I just want to get the house ready to sell.

No more major dollars please!

Balls of major lumbar magnitude and suckitude.

Yeah. I went and had X-rays taken yesterday.

Not good.

This took its toll on me over the past year. I had some fears it would and sure enough it has.

I basically have a pinched/compressed and quite irritated disk between my L4 and L5 vertabrae right above my sacrum (S1), which of course explains the slowly increasing pain I've had and more than likely the problems beginning in my left hip.

They shot cortisone into my lower back/upper ass in the hopes it would help me.
There's no arthritis there but man oh man I can barely get any work done in any timely matter.

I've got the Attic to do. The basement to finish. The painting to finish. New gutters and drains to install. And hell, boxes to pack and move.

I didn't need this affecting me at this moment.

Balls!

Balls of major suckitude.

I can't even do my cardio like I was doing since I can't stay upright on the cross-trainer for more than 10 minutes without my hips feeling numb.

I know my weight problem is returning to haunt me.

This isn't helping much.

And no, stinky meowy butt, once considered the cure-all for any disease or condition, hasn't helped much.

The Attic of Love™ is now officially The Attic of Non-Love Disaster™

One thing that you may not realize is that for all of the work I did on the basement and other rooms, I sacrificed the hours needed to maintain... and I use that would very sparingly... the so-called Attic of Love™.

Over the past 12 months it has devolved into The Attic of Disaster™.

Oy koledy! What a mess I have to work with.

The Attic of Disaster - Victory Saber should be my task master!

With Star Saber as my guide and task master I will endeavor to spend 10-15 hours a week on the Attic in conjunction with finishing up the comics in the basement and all the other items that need to be completed.

"Punkrocker" by the Swedish band the Teddybears (with vocals by Iggy Pop) is one of my new favourite songs.

What a day!

Basement 99% done. Check.
Successfully did 9 miles this morning on the cross-trainer. Check.
Transitioned color workflow (at work) from Iris2Print to a Xerox 7760. Check.
Got my automation batch script working by 7am. Check.
IT is setting up my interview for a new job tomorrow. Check.
The sun is brilliantly shining into my office and upon the Cowlands. Check.

So far. It is turning out to be one helluva day!

I hope it keeps going like this!

Ok. It has been a couple of days now so I can finally write a bit about the greatest television show ever.

Yup.

Battlestar Galactica's final episode for the season has aired.

And I, Nala, loved it!!!

Stuff...

March 6, 2007 | | comments (1)

So Friday Giger and I are heading up to Cleveburg to chill with Spectroscott for the evening.

Not sure what the full agenda, if any, will be though I have a sneaking suspicion it will involve at least some form of toy run.

The past 6 or so weeks have been really awful and culminated in major eatage this weekend as JayK visited the House of Love.

Ever since I was on those shingles meds I've had problems eating.

Well... let me rephrase that...

I've had problems not eating!

I'm like ravenous all of the time and it is just awful.

I never ever feel full and can consume and consume and consume.

It is worst than even 2004 when I had reach disgusting horror levels.

I'm back at the gym every morning at 5am and I'm currently on a couple days fast to try and shed the salts and water I'm retaining.

I just feel gross... and quite frankly my body has restructured itself since I stopped serious weight-lifting when I injured my shoulder last year.

I really had started to reorg my musculature and general fat alignment and now I feel that I'm back to being 315 again when I'm just hovering above 240.

I'll never ever be 200 on any consistent basis.

I'm going to try this year to do that though.

But I just have to find the strength and determination to do this again.

Why oh why was losing that first 75 pounds so easy?!?!?!

2007_02_28_sulu.gifYay!

George Takei's back on Stern next week!!!

I love the fact that I really never took any notice of George Takei other than the stereotypical view of his character Sulu but now that he spends a couple of weeks a year on the Stern show I wait with anticipation for it.

Stupid. I know.

The most important lesson learned from an 80s cartoon.

8 Important Lessons Learned from '80s Cartoons

CARTOON: Transformers
LESSON: If we’re not careful, robots will kill us all.
This is a humbling lesson for any child to learn, but an easy one to accept, considering Transformers was one of the coolest cartoons of the '80s. Would the Unabomber have renounced his violent ways if he were to witness the sheer stunning spectacle that is Grimlock? Hard to say, since he didn’t have a TV. But we will tell you one thing: when machines replace humans at the top of the food chain, we’ll be standing on the sidelines, waving our Autobot flag with fervent pride. Because, let’s face it, getting eaten by an alien car would suck.
How it affected us as adults: The reason we stay away from Priuses and make our TV wear a blindfold when we sleep at night.

The great comic book purge begins...

The great comic book purge begins!

It has started.

With the help of Jay and Giga the comic boxes have all been brought down to the dining room.

And thankfully, my memory has been way faulty on how many comics I still had.

I did a purge back in 87 and then again around 94 and I had pretty much forgot how many I had gotten rid. Back in my teens and during the Dark Ages I needed quick cash and selling off the comics was a way to get it.

Still. This is way too much baggage to have in my life.

The great comic book purge begins!

The goal here will be to reduce this by 95%, with only graphic novels, trades, and very specials individual issues or series kept.

I think I can manage that.

Of course, some of the stuff from the past 9 years is just as much of Giga's as it is mine. But I think he'll want to thin out the baggage as much as I do.

Tearing apart the Attic of The Damned!

October 21, 2006 | | comments (0)

So I spent today moving shit around The Attic to try and free up the space for the contractor.

Attic of Love - I just put the TF crap to one side.

So much crap!

Attic of Love - This is where they need to tear the wall out.

I guess it is a good thing that I'm letting them open up the wall but damn, I really don't need this mess up here. My basement is still tore up and the dining room is full of stuff from the basement so this is yet another room that'll be way messy.

But hopefully the problem isn't serious.

I think your arm would start to hurt.

This is the greatest Halloween costume. EVER!

I think this may just be the greatest Halloween costume.

Ever!

And the costume is basically in "new skool" Ultra Magnus colors too!
